US Assistant Secretary Evan Ryan arriving Thursday

KATHMANDU: Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan will arrive here in Kathmandu on Thursday (September 29) for a two-day official visit. She will fly to the Nepali capital from New Delhi.

Ryan is scheduled to meet officials at the Ministry of Education, engage an English Access classroom, and meet with Nepali youth working on community projects to promote entrepreneurship and women’s and girls’ empowerment, according to the US State Department's Office of the Spokesperson.

The US official would visit several cultural sites supported by the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation.

Her visit to the two South Asian countries aims at exploring opportunities to further strengthen people to people relations, including through educational collaboration, programming to empower women and girls, and cultural heritage preservation, according to a note issued by the US State Department.
