KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 21
A collision between a magic van and motorcycle has claimed the life of one person in Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city-3, on Sunday morning.
The magic van (Na 1 Ja 8839) journeying to Birgunj from Kalaiya collided head-on with a motorcycle (Na 4 Pa 5124), in front of the temporary Traffic Police Office at Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city-3 of the Kalaiya-Birgunj road section along the East-West Highway.
The deceased has been identified as Duryoddhan Chaudhary, 40, of Prastoka in Prasauni Rural Municipality-5.
Chaudhary had sustained critical injuries consequential to the collision after which he was taken to the Kalaiya Hospital, where he breathed his last in the course of treatment, according to the Bara police.
The van has been impounded while the van driver has been remanded in custody for further investigation, informed Police Inspector at the Bara Police Office, Surendra Yadav.
