Veep Pun visits touristic places in Nuwakot

Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun visited various touristic places in Nuwakot yesterday.

He reached Chisapani in Nuwakot via Sundarijal of Kathmandu and Sindhupalchowk.

The vice-president observed several sites carrying touristic and religious importance in Shivapuri, Panchakanya and Dupcheshwar rural municipalities in Nuwakot district.

In the course of his tour, VP Pun said a lot of income could be made and revenues generated if tourism activities like hiking, trekking and homestay could be promoted in parts of the district by developing it as a tourist destination.

He urged lawmakers Hit Bahadur Tamang and Radhika Tamang, who represent the areas, to take initiatives for development of tourism activities as it had much potential in the district.

On his way to Chisapani via Sundarijal, VP Pun offered bouquets to the statues of Bishsweshwar Prasad Koirala and Ganeshman Singh there. He also observed the BP Museum in Sundarijal, which has preserved the historical articles and personal belongings of the late Koirala and Singh.

Koirala was the first people-elected prime minister and leader of democracy movement while Singh was the leader and commander of the people’s movement for the restoration of democracy in the country. The vice-president also observed the Bagmati Improvement Project during the visit.
