Vehicles start plying on highway

DHADING, July 30

Vehicular movement, which was halted throughout yesterday night due to landslide at Jogimara caused by incessant rainfall, resumed with one-way traffic opened after debris was cleared on Thrusday morning in Dhading.

Vehicular movement along the Jogimara-Mugling road section was disrupted from 8:00pm, yesterday due to the landslip.

One-way traffic resumed after a bulldozer from Department of Road, Gajuri,  cleared the debris, informed Area Police Office, Gajuri.

Inspector, Hemanta Bhandari Chhetri of the police office said their attempts to clear the debris along the road could not succeed due to incessant rainfall throughout the night.

The road around the site remains disrupted every year during monsoon due frequent to landslides, as there is a boulder mine just above the road.

It is a common sight to witness hundreds of thousands of passengers — both inbound and outbound — from the capital stranded at the site due to obstruction of the road.
