Vehicles vandalised for defying bandh

Gaighat, November 23:

Cadres of Chure Bhawar Ekata Samaj (CBES) vandalised at least six vehicles at Katari bazaar in Udyapur district last night.

The group led by CBES regional chairman Bijay Thapa said, “The vehicles did not stop when told to.” Police said they hurled stones at the vehicles and beat up the drivers and passengers

of the vehicles.

CBES cadres, including Bijay, Tej Bahadur Thapa, Santosh Poudel, Saila Tamang, Hom Kumar Sunuwar and Umesh Thapa were held for vandalism, added the police.

Transport entrepreneurs protested against the act, obstructing traffic by placing vehicles on the road in Katari bazaar today.
