Verdict on Wagle case put off

Kathmandu, June 7:

The Special Court today adjourned its decision on corruption case filed against the senior leader of Nepali Congress (Democratic), Chiranjivi Wagle. The Special Court again stipulated July 8 for issuing the verdict. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a corruption case against Wagle, some one-and-a-half-year ago accusing him of amassing Rs 30.3 million by abusing his authority while he was minister in different cabinets after 1990. Similarly, the court today imposed a bail amount of Rs 5 million on former mayor of Janakpur Municipality, Bajaranja Prasad Shah. The court also imposed Rs 1.3 million bail on Shiv Shankar Prasad Shah and Rs 1.3 million on Ambar Nath Gupta who are contractors.
