Villagers compelled to spend Rs 10,000 for citizenship

BANEPA: Locals of remote villages in Kavre are forced to spend as much as Rs 10,000 to acquire citizenship certificate.

The villagers are compelled to travel to Dhulikhel for the citizenship certificate after the staff refused to work at the Area Administration Office in Ghartichap VDC.

According to local Nandalal Rana Magar of Ghartichap VDC-5, the villagers are forced to walk for two days and bear the cost of five days' travel of at least two persons.

Though the Home Ministry has appointed employees at the Area Administration Office, they have not attended the work yet, Chief District Officer (CDO) Balkrishna Panthi.
