JAJARKOT: 65-year-old man Kalu Tiwari has scummed to viral fever and common cold in Junichande rural municipality of Jajarkot, on Wednesday. With this total number of the victims to die from the viral fever and common cold has reached to 13 according to District Public Health Office’s Chief Ram Bahadur Nepali. Tiwari had taken his last breath on the way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the local residents have expressed their dissatisfaction over government’s lackluster efforts to curve the impact of viral fever and common cold. “Every year many people lose their lives due to such calamity, but government always shows its concerns very lately. This time as well, government is not mobilizing enough manpower in the affected areas,” said local journalist Rajendra Karki.

The meeting of District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee led by Chief District Officer held on Wednesday decided to dispatch the medical teams with the needed medicines.

District Public Health Office’s Chief Nepali informed that the samples collected from the affected patients have been sent to Kathmandu. “We have sent the samples to the Epidemiology and Diseases Control Division and the report after assessing the samples will clarify about the diseases,” said Nepali.

He further informed that a total of 1050 patients have already taken the health care service and more than 1000 are yet to get that sort of service.

Meanwhile, all the schools of the Junichande rural municipality have been shut down to prevent students from the viral.

District Education Office informed that a total of 59 schools of the Junichande are closed for the indefinite term.
