Vitamin A drive on Oct 19, 20

Kathmandu, September 26:

Vitamin A capsules and deworming tablets will be administered to children between six months and five years of age across the country on October 19-20, the Nepali Technical Assistance Group (NTAG) said in a press release. Around 3.7 million children aged between six months and five years would be given Vitamin A capsules, while around 2.9 million children aged between one and five years would be given deworming tablets as part of the National Vitamin A Programme, the NTAG said.

Around 48,000 women health volunteers would be mobilised to distribute medicines in 75 districts through the District Health Offices, health posts and sub-health posts. The capsules help reduce child mortality rate and curb night blindness.
