National Assembly member Bina Pokhrel has said women continue to be subjected to suppression and injustice as traditional norms and values contravening the vision of building an equitable and just society are yet to be realised.
Speaking in a meeting of the National Assembly today, the lawmaker expressed her concern about the increasing incidents of violence against women, including rape and sexual harassment.
She said the government should take effective measures to combat it.
The lawmaker was of the view that it was necessary to regulate YouTube channel.
She claimed that the operators of such channels had gone out of control and were indulging in promoting indecency in society.
She also sought to make education materials from the primary to higher levels women-friendly.
Similarly, Narayan Dutta Mishra said the agricultural sector was in a mess while Mahommad Khali and Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar drew the government's attention to other contemporary issues.
