Voter education from polling centres: EC

The Election Commission today said that it would provide voters’ education from all 6,642 polling centres of the 34 districts of province 3, 4 and 6, where the first phase of local level election will be held on May 14.
The election body said its officials, government employees deployed for poll duty, voter educators as well as volunteers would provide voter education on May 11, 12 and 13 from polling centres. “We have directed our concerned officials to provide voter education to the people,” said EC Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma. He said that voters would reach polling centres to collect their voters’ identity cards and EC employees and staffers would impart voting techniques to voters from the polling centres.
The commission has planned to distribute voters’ ID on May 11, 12 and 13 from the respective polling centres.
