Waive tax on donation: FNCCI
Biratnagar, April 6:
President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Kush Kumar Joshi has asked the government to waive tax on donation that is given to political parties during elections. Joshi was speaking at a programme organised by the Industry Association Morang to felicitate newly-elected office bearers of the FNCCI.
Saying that entrepreneurs, industrialists and businessmen have donated funds to parties for the CA polls, he said this will continue. Joshi said such donation should be exempt of tax because such a move will contribute to nation-building. Entrepreneurs, industrialists and businessmen have helped the parties financially, he said, calling on the parties to understand the former’s problems. Saying that cooperation is necessary to strengthen the relations between the government and entrepreneurs, Joshi said, “Economic development will not be possible in the absence of close cooperation between the government and entrepreneurs.”
President of the Industry Association Morang Dinesh Golchha urged the FNCCI to hold talks with the government on the construction of a road linking Kimathanka with the Koshi Highway for the development of the eastern region.
