RAUTAHAT, FEBRUARY 12
Police arrested Bijay Kuswaha, chairman of Baudhimai Municipality-1, Rautahat, on Friday.
A police team deployed from District Police Office took ward chair Kuswaha under control on the charge of inciting locals to attack APF Border Outpost, Bankul and taking away the livestock.
Ward chair faces charge of promoting smuggling and disturbing law and order by inciting locals to attack the APF BOP. APF personnel had seized buffaloes on January 23.
Before the buffaloes were sent to Gaur Customs Office, ward chair provoked the locals to attack the BOP and took the animals away. Ward chair had been absconding since an arrest warrant was issued against him. Police nabbed him today. "Kuswaha was freed in the presence of chair of Ward Number 6. He has been asked to be present at District Police Office later," said SP Siddi Bikram Shah.
