Weapons missing from NA Far-Western Division found

DIPAYAL: Nepal Army’s weapons, which were lost from the NA Far-Western Division in Dipayal, were found concealed in the Division’s premises, on Thursday.

One SMG, two loaded magazines and 288 rounds of bullets were missing from the NA Far-Western Division mysteriously since August 5.

A team of the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police was deployed to investigate the disappearance.

After the incident, army personnel of Garundal Battalion, Aerial Security Battery and Kotkhana of the Division were detained for investigation.

On August 18, NA corporal Dipak Bahadur Khadka had died after being shot in detention over the disappearance of weapons, while security agencies had called it a suicide.

A team of the National Human Rights Commission, which had arrived from its Far-West Regional Office in Dipayal to take stock of the human rights situation, was also not allowed to meet the detained security personnel.
