GULARIYA: Two persons were killed by a wild elephant in Dalla area of Suryapatuwa–4 of Bardiya district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Yuvraj Tharu of Patharwoji, Dhodari–1 and Paruwa Tharu (72) of Dalla.

Yuvraj was attacked by the elephant while he was returning home from school. Likewise, the elderly man was attacked when he was guarding crops at night.

Both the critically injured died while undergoing treatment at Kohalpur-based Kohalpur Medical College, Banke last night.

Their bodies are being brought to Bardiya for postmortem, the Bardiya National Park Conservation Chief Ramesh Thapa said.
