Wire-net demand high

Kavre, September 9

The demand for wire netting has shot up in the district after the earthquakes hit the district in April and May. Land conservation officer Monohar Kumar Sah said individuals, organisations and consumer committees have been demanding wire-nets. “We could not provide it due to the high demand,” he informed. He said the office has been distributing wire-net in the areas prone to risk of landslides triggered by the quake. Sources said the office had 15,000 square metres of wire-net and 46 tonnes of wire for constructing walls in risky areas.

There are more than 200 applications from organisations and individuals at the office. The office has already distributed 15,000 square metre wire-net to 85 people of 20 VDCs.
