RAUTAHAT: A 45-year-old woman was charred to death at Fatuwa Tole in Jhunkhunuwa VDC of Rautahat district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Jamila Khatun.

According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, the incident occurred when she was sleeping at her room at around 3 am.

Locals had informed police after they saw the room of Khatun fully enfulfed in flames.

Later, police personnel and locals doused the fire.

DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari said that they are investigating into the case.

The body has been sent to the District Hospital for postmortem.

The case behind the fire is yet to the established, DSP Bhandari said.
