Woman, daughter found murdered

An unidentified gang killed a mother and her daughter using a sharp weapon at Haraiya Paltuwa VDC in Rauthat on Saturday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Renu Devi Sah, 32, and her daughter Ankita Kumari, 10, of the VDC, said District Police Office, Rautahat. According to family members, Renu Devi had gone to bed with her three daughters after having dinner on Friday night.
SP Ganesh Raj Regmi of Rautahat, quoting family members, said Renu Devi had gone out with one of her daughters to answer the call of nature in the morning. Family members starting searching for them after they did not return even after an hour.The incident site is 35 km from the district headquarters Gaur.
SP Regmi said Renu Devi’s mother-in-law and brother-in-law had gone to search for the duo and found the bodies lying in a sugarcane field. They had reported the incident the police after finding the bodies there, he said. The woman and her daughter have received deep injuries to various parts of their bodies.
SP Regmi said the circumstances in which the mother-daughter duo were killed was mysterious. He said police have taken sniffer dogs to the incident site to investigate into the incident, while the bodies have been sent to district hospital for postmortem.
Renu Devi’s husband is working in Malaysia for the last four years. She had been living with her elderly father and mother-in-laws and her three daughters.
