BHOJPUR: A woman drowned in a pit in Laligurans-8 of Terhathum district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Devi Maya Limbu (60), a local resident, informed the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.

Police said Limbu had slipped and fallen onto the pit. She was discovered dead by the locals yesterday.

A police team has been deployed to investigate the incident.
