A woman, who had gone missing since June 3, was found dead in Mahottari district. The deceased woman has been identified as Sujata Thakur of Bhramarapura, Loharpatti.
According to police preliminary investigation, Sujata's husband Mukesh with the help of her fatherin-law Patiram and brother-in-law Rupesh, murdered her and buried her body in a farmland belonging to Patiram in the local Manarahiya forest at Bhamarapura village, around three kilometres southeast of Patiram's house on June 2, said police.
The remnants of Sujata's body (her hair, bloodstains, a plastic rope and a bed sheet) were recovered from the site where her body was unearthed, said Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya.
Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission, the National Women Commission and the Madhesi Commission have urged the police to investigate and bring the culprits to justice.
