RAUTAHAT, AUGUST 24

Police have identified the woman whose body was found inside a suitcase in Rautahat on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Rubi Kumari Sah of Gaur Municipality-2.

According to District Police Office Rautahat spokesperson DSP Raju Karki, locals discovered the rope-tied suitcase near Mudbalwa bend along the Gaur–Sirsiya–Gangapipra road section around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and informed police. The body inside was later confirmed as Rubi, originally from Madhopur, Madhavnarayan Municipality-6, and the wife of Shivsagar Sah of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India.

Police said Rubi had left home Saturday afternoon to visit a beauty parlor but did not return. Her body was found hours later abandoned by the roadside. The body has been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for post-mortem.

DSP Karki said blood was seen coming from her nose though no external injuries were found. Police suspect murder and are investigating the circumstances of her death.
