ITAHARI: A woman was found dead in a canal in Chandbela VDC-6 of Sunsari district on Monday morning.

Police said they identified her as the 40-year-old Leela Kumari Chaudhary.

Based on their preliminary investigation, police said somebody might have murdered Chaudhary and dumped her in the canal.

The body of Chaudhary has been sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for autopsy, according to the District Police Office, Sunsari.
