Woman held for murder
Siraha, July 23
Siraha Police held two persons on the charge of their alleged involvement in murdering a man in Laxmipur, Bishnupur Rural Municipality, in the district last evening.
The second wife of Shatrudhan Yadav, 34, —Shuvakala Devi Yadav, 25, and Ram Charitra Thakur, 55, of Siraha Municipality were held on the charge of murdering Shatrudhan.
“As we have found some clues of Shuvakala Devi and Thakur’s involvement in the murder, we arrested them from Hem Narayan Chowk of the district headquarters last evening,” said police.
According to District Police Office Siraha Chief SP Shekhar Koirala, a murder case has been lodged against the duo and investigation is under way.
The body of Shatrudhan was recovered from a bamboo grove with bruises on the head and neck at Basabitta on May 31. Shuvakala has her maternal house at Basabitta. She had been staying there for a week when her husband was murdered.
Police personnel involved in the investigation surmise that Shuvakala might have plotted the murder in collusion with Thakur as her husband was staying with his first wife and Shuvakala and Shatrudhan had a dispute over property ownership.
