Police have begun investigation with assistance from provincial police office

An unidentified group has killed a woman by attacking her with a sharp weapon in Bara district, on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kanti Devi, 48, of Mahagadhimai Municipality-1 of the district.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gautam Mishra, preliminary investigation has revealed injuries to the victim's head and face, caused by a sharp object.
The woman was alone in her house when she was attacked. Her husband, Baijanath Kushwaha, had gone out for a walk while her children live away from home for education, stated police.
DSP Mishra further informed that investigation into the incident has begun by bringing in sniffer dogs from Provincial Police Office, Janakpur.
