SARLAHI, SEPTEMBER 24
A female employee of Suryodaya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha was robbed of Rs 150,000 in Ishwarpur Municipality, Sarlahi, on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to locals, 32-year-old Rinku Kumar Mahato, a resident of the area and staff member at the microfinance institution's Bhagwanpur branch, was returning after collecting loan installments and interest when she was attacked around 1:30 p.m.
Two assailants, described as wearing grey half-pants and white vests and riding a red Apache motorcycle, reportedly threatened her with a weapon and snatched the bag containing the cash before fleeing the scene.
Inspector Umakant Joshi of the Bayalbas Area Police Office confirmed receiving the report and said he was on his way to the site to verify details.
Police have launched a search to apprehend the culprits.
