A 64-year-old man has claimed that he can cure HIV/AIDS with the help of Ayurvedic medicine. Murali Raman Poudel, of Amarapuri VDC-3, speaking at a press conference in Kawasoti today, claimed that the potion comprised millet, wheat, barley and 262 herbs.

The English teacher, who has been conducting researches on AIDS treatment for 13 years, said an Indian paper, the Post, had inspired him to be a full-time researcher. He said he had collected the herbs from forests in Nawalparasi, Chitwan, Gorkha, Lamjung and Tanahun, but refused to name them. He has named the liquid anti-AIDS drug as Parichaya.
