KATHMANDU: The EnvOrgs, an NGO working for the environment protection, announced today to celebrate the World Environment Day- 2009, by organising awareness programs and different activities in Kathmandu on Friday.

The officials of EnvOrgs informed at a press meet that the slogan for the year would be 'Your planet needs you- unite to combat climate change'.

According to the officials, the programmes would be organised in company with the schoolchildren, youths, civil society activists, actors and political leaders.

"Globe competition, community theatre, installation art, planet police, photo exhibition and art works will be the attraction in the programme", said Niraj Tamrakar, the programme coordinator. The world environment day is celebrated on June 5 each year.
