KATHMANDU, MARCH 23
The hearing on the writ petition filed at the Supreme Court challenging the Office of the Attorney General's decision to amend and withdraw organized crime and money laundering cases against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane will continue on Tuesday.
The hearing was postponed to Tuesday after it could not be held today. Court spokesperson Ajun Prasad Koirala stated that the division bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Abdul Aziz Musalman did not conduct the hearing, prompting the rescheduling.
Earlier, a joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Shrikant Poudel had directed that the petition be listed for a regular hearing.
Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral had decided to withdraw the money laundering and organized crime cases filed against Lamichhane.
Advocates Yubaraj Poudel, Dinesh Tripathi, and Abhas Regmi had filed separate writ petitions in the Supreme Court, challenging this decision.
