DHANKUTA: Dhankuta District Police Office said a youth was arrested for stealing jewellery from a shop in Hile Bazaar in Dhankuta Municipality-1, on Tuesday.

The arrestee has been identified as Milan Adhikari Khatri (23) of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.

According to Superintendent of Police Sudeep Rajbhandari of the DPO, Khatri had broken into the jewellery shop of Rejin Dhamal on February 4 and made off with gold jewellery worth around Rs 350,000.

Khatri was made public by the police on Tuesday itself.

According to police, Khatri has confessed to the theft.

Police have recovered the stolen items.
