RAJBIRAJ, JULY 24
A tragic incident occurred in Akbarpur Tole, Mahadeva Rural Municipality, Saptari, where a 35-year-old man brutally murdered his wife for preventing him from taking cash from their home to buy drugs last night.
The perpetrator, identified as Ramrup Khang, attacked his wife, Parbati, with a stick, causing fatal injuries. Parbati succumbed to her wounds.
During the attack, Ramrup's mother, Samtoliya, 62, and father, Parsuram, 70, tried to intervene, but they ended up getting injured. Samtoliya was critically hurt and is currently undergoing treatment at Chhhinnamasta Hospital. Her condition is reported to be critical.
According to neighbours, Ramrup had returned home high on drugs at around 10:00pm, and family members attempted to stop him from taking cash from the money box to buy the drug. It was revealed that Ramrup is a drug addict, according to Ward Chair Jageshwar Prasad Isral.
After the incident, police, with the assistance of local people, managed to apprehend Ramrup and rushed Parbati, Samtoliya, and Parashuram to Chinnamasta Hospital in Rajbiraj for medical treatment. Unfortunately, Parbati died during treatment, said DSP Nares Kumar Singh, spokesperson for District Police Office, Saptari.
