Police have arrested a person who entered a hospital at night, abandoned his newborn baby and fled the scene three weeks ago.
According to police, the youth had a baby from a relationship with a livein partner and he drove to the Lahan-based provincial hospital on the night of May 27 to abandon the baby there and flee the scene.
Based on evidence of the CCTV footage at the hospital, police in civvies arrested the youth from Lahan bazaar nine days ago. They have also filed a case against the youth for abandoning his baby. After the baby was found at the hospital gate, it was rescued and handed over to OCMC at the hospital.
As per the CCTV footage, a masked youth along with a woman had reached the hospital on a bike and fled after abandoning a 15- day old baby there at about 1:00am on May 27. The hospital administration informed that the man and the woman had come to the hospital on May 10 citing pain in the abdomen. She was then admitted to the hospital for delivery and had delivered her baby the same day.
