Youths to be mobilised for CA polls, says Khand

Rupandehi, June 18:

Nepal Tarun Dal (NTD) chairperson and Nepali Congress (Democratic) central member, Bal Krishna Khand, today said that the NTD is planning to mobilise youths to ensure that the constituent assembly (CA) poll is held in a free and fair manner.

He said this while speaking at a press meet organised by Reporters’ Club Nepal (Lumbini) here today,He said that the NTD will give top priority to the CA polls after its third convention is held in Narayangarh on July 16-18 and that it will go for the CA polls with the slogan of CA polls for Democratic Republic.

Saying that the Maoist are not acting as per the Comprehensive National Peace Treaty and that it led to the deferral of the CA polls, Khand said: “The government should be flexible in considering the demands of Madhesi and Janajaitis and the Maoists should improve their conduct.”

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala’s statement on a minor king is his personal view, he said.

NC (D) presidents from 71 districts, of the total 73 participating district presidents, have expressed their support for a democratic republic, he said.
