KATHMANDU, MAY 28
Zonta Club Kathmandu, in collaboration with Ek Ek Paila Foundation, organized a children's health camp at Masine Village in Kavrepalanchok, on May 24. The camp, held at Champa Sikhar Adharbhut School, aimed to provide basic health services to children in the area who have limited access to medical care.
More than 50 children attended the camp, where a team of volunteer health workers provided eye, dental, and pediatric check-ups. The medical team included Dr. Binita Adhikari (Consultant Dentist), Dr. Sajani Dongol (General Physician), Kripa Shrestha (Optometrist), and Parbati Gurung (Dental Nurse). Zonta members Dr. Sabina Shah Pahari and Dr. Jyoti Aryal led the team, conducting pediatric and dental examinations. Dr. Aryal also held an oral hygiene session to raise awareness among the children.
Of the 51 children examined, 32 were found to have dental issues that need further attention. Essential medications were provided as part of the pediatric consultations. Along with the check-ups, each child received a small kit containing body powder, massage oil, and soap, distributed through Ek Ek Paila. Unilever Nepal supported the initiative by donating toothpaste.
According to Zonta Club Kathmandu, the camp was part of its ongoing effort to promote healthcare, education, and community wellbeing through practical and direct support to underserved populations.
