6 hurt as Koshi victims clash with cops in Sunsari

ITAHARI: At least six Koshi flood victims and some security personnel were injured when the police tried to remove the road barricade put up by the farmers at Hapur of Sunsari on Monday morning.


Koshi victims attacked security personnel armed with knives and arrows. The police used 10 rounds of teargas shells to contain the tense situation. Policemen Shyam Sunsar Mehata and Dhanik Lal Thakur were injured when the agitators showered arrows at them.

Koshi victims are in the midst of an agitation over unfulfilled demands. Security has been beefed up to restore order in the area.
