Araniko Highway reopens

KAVRE: Transportation in Araniko Highway, which was obstructed since Tuesday, has resumed from Monday morning.

After an agreement reached to provide a compensation of Rs 300,000 each to the family of the deceased and bear the cost of treatment of the injured, locals agreed to allow the transportation.

Locals of Panchkhal VDC had obstructed the road protesting the death of two youths in a road mishap. Badri Subedi (33) and Murari Adhikari (32) of Panchkhal VDC-4 had died on the spot when a bus hit their motorbike six days ago.

Manaram Sapkota, who was also on the bike, has sustained serious injury in his head and is undergong treatment at Norvic Hospital, Kathmandu.
