A distasteful gag by anchor Chunky Pandey has made Koena Mitra upset.

Award shows seem to have become a pet platform for taking potshots at film celebrities. Who can forget the antics of Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan at a recent award show where the two – hosting a segment of the show – made jibes at everyone from Ram Gopal Varma to Akshay Kumar .

Now, something similar happened at the recently held Zee Cine Awards in London. Chunky Pandey and Minissha Lamba were co-hosting a part of the show when Pandey surprised the audience with a rather distasteful joke on Koena.

Chunky said: “What’s common between Koena Mitra and Emraan Hashmi apart from the fact that they both look like men?”

A challenge to her sexuality has left Koena fuming. The jibe is also hurtful because Koena has undergone facial cosmetic surgery to enhance her looks, but many in the industry feel she looks ‘artificial’ after the operation.

Koena has expressed her displeasure over Chunkey’s remarks. She says what hurt her most was that she personally knows Chunky.

Chunky, on the other hand, says the comment was not intended. It was the teleprompter that goofed up.

According to Chunky, the joke was on Sajid Khan and Karan Johar . He was supposed to say: “What’s common between Sajid Khan and Karan Johar apart from the fact that they both look like men”. But due to some mistake, Emraan and Koena’s names appeared on the teleprompter.

By the way, Koena is not having the best of time nowadays. Apart from this incident, she is also unhappy about her latest movie Anamika in which her role has reportedly been chopped significantly.
