Children being administered polio drop
KATHMANDU: Polio drop is being administrated to children below five years of age on Saturday under the first phase of anti-polio initiatives across the nation. The programme which started at 8 am will end at 5 pm.
The Ministry for Health and Population has estimated that the drop will be administrated to 44, 67000 children in the first phase.
A total of 79, 8014 health volunteers have been deployed in 39,907 centres to administer the drop across the country, the Health Ministry said, adding that the second phase is scheduled for May 15.
The Ministry for Health and Population stated that the drop is being administered with the assistance of the World Health Organisation, UNICEF and the Rotary International.
