Foreign powers for status quo
KATHMANDU: Chairman of UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today claimed that the foreign powers were attempting to stop the change.
“Despite that, the fight for national independence is on,” said Prachanda while addressing the inauguration of the third National Conference of
All Nepal Industrial Workers’ Association at Balaju today.
Claiming that Nepalis should fight the foreign powers’ high-handedness in a unified manner, he said the decisions and commitments to be made by the party would be of utmost significance.
He accused the Singha Durbar of stalling the changes meant for the
people, adding that the Nepal’s
power centre was not letting people experience the change.
Prachanda claimed that he was close to realising his dream to make Nepal
a sovereign prosperous country.
“This success will be hailed by our
future generations but if we failed they will curse us,” he said.
He urged all the workers to unite in order to lead the fight for national independence and civilian supremacy
to a logical conclusion. He claimed that the constituent assembly and the
federalism was the achievement of the workers’ sacrifice and therefore the workers had to be united to safeguard both the achievements.
He warned that the conspiracy was on to split the workers and wished that the conference would further strengthen their unity. He added that the workers were the major agents of change and had been fighting against all forms of discrimination and intervention. “Reactionary forces try to rule by splitting the workers. They should always be aware of such tactics,” he added.
