Kathmandu: International Animal Day is being observed throughout the world with the slogan that everyone has the same blood and they feel the same pain on Sunday, October 4.

The organisations working for animals in Nepal are also observing the day by organising various programmes in Nepal.

Nepal Animal Welfare taking up the same slogan has begun initiatives for the safety of animals for two years. On the occasion various art, photo, and writing competitions related to animal security are going to be held in Basantapur Durbar Square on Sunday.

As per the decision made in 1931 by the environmentalists of Florence city, Italy to celebrate animal day on October 4, the day is celebrated as animal day every year.
