UML chairman to leave for India
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal is set to leave for India on a week-long visit at the invitation of the Indian government on Tuesday evening.
According to sources, Khanal will lead a three-member team for the visit. He is accompanied by UML central member Arun Nepal and foreign department member Udaya Raj Pande. He will meet with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, opposition leader Raj Nath Singh and Indian communist leaders.
Khanal met Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala prior to his trip on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum Nepal chairman Upendra Yadav is also leaving for India.
