Young Joshi's fantasy world
KATHMANDU: Many writers have begun their literary journey at a young age by writing a couple of articles, essays, poems or stories. Similarly, 15-year-old Shreya Joshi has also entered the world of literature by writing a children’s novel — Into The Unknown.
The novel was released by Ferhat Dogrutakin, the principal of her school, at a programme organised by the Nepal Creative Writers’ Society (NCWS) on April 2. Joshi is the granddaughter of writer Pashu Pradhan.
“We are pleased to organise this programme and encourage a young talent like Shreya Joshi,” said NCWS secretary Pawan Alok. Sharing his ideas about the novel, poet Hari Adhikari said, “I discovered fantasy in her novel rather than experiences of the real world.”
“Since my childhood I dreamt of having my writings published, so I began writing this novel when I was in Class V,” shared Joshi adding that she had changed the writing pattern time and again with the development of her mind.
Inspired by English writers and her grandparents, Joshi said those readers who love to read Enid Blyton and about magic will also like her novel. She also informed that she is writing her next novel Frozen Fire based on teenagers’ feelings.
