CREDOS: I and You — VI
When I is abstracted the basic word I—IT replaces I—YOU. I—YOU splits into I and YOU.I—YOU precedes I. I—IT precedes YOU. IT comes after I. In primitive relational events I is included (but not conceived or spoken). I—IT changes the actual event into experience separate from the body. When I asserts and establishes a separate existence, the conscious act of I occurs. “I see a tree” does not evoke relation between I and YOU. The tree is an object of consciousness, the mental block between subject and object is concrete: I—IT separates the body from the world. I’s conscious life arose in primitive minds when awareness of being alive appeared in Time as a product, or a by-product of Nature. Nameless truth and life as mystery was no longer inherent.
In the Primal Age Paradise was Hell. The real past is full of cruelty and anger, torture and dreadful happenings. Relational experiences were not tame and pleasant. Violence against our Being makes a path to what is right. Mouthing prayers leads to Nothing. The life of primitive peoples is nothing more than a metaphor for primal consciousness. We receive a more complete picture from a child. Awareness of life emerges from natural reality. I—YOU is a natural combination, I—IT a natural separation. In a child ‘s prenatal life Relation is pure, flowing and effortless interaction. In our mother ‘s body we know the universe. We yearn for the cosmic connection, a real YOU, a life bursting with natural excitement. Separated from our Mother, we come out of the glowing darkness and are confronted with chaos. Re-establishing Relationship provides us with an awareness that radiates the meaning of life. Meaning unfolds and reveals essential nature as form. In our first infant efforts we establish Relation.
