UML’s youth wing demands PM’s resignation

Kathmandu, September 19

Youth Federation Nepal, the youth wing of the CPN-UML today demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Organising a programme here today, YFN said that they had sought the resignation of PM Dahal for signing an anti-national agreement with India during his India visit.

Rajib Pahari, chairperson, YFN, said that India was concerned about point no 10 in the 25-point agreement signed with India during his recent visit, which was related to Nepal’s Constitution.

Stating that the PM’s visit to India was unsuccessful, he said that Nepal’s constitution is purely Nepal’s internal matter and India should not interfere in such matters.

He said, “Nepal’s political issues should be sorted out within the country,” adding, “The PM had tried to reveal our internal matters outside country and made fun of it.”

Pahari also alleged that the PM had ignored the agreement with China in the past.

He further said that YFN had filed a complaint at the Commission for the Investigation on Abuse of Authority four year ago against Dahal, Babu Ram Bhattarai and Krishna Bahadur Mahara in relation to financial irregularities in the name of Maoist combatants.

“Though it is late, the CIAA has finally started studying the complaint for action if the three are found guilty,” he added.

He warned of nationwide protest if the leaders tried to suppress the issue by misusing their power.

He also demanded that the government control black-marketing, inflation and artificial scarcity to ease the supply of daily commodities in the wake of festivals such as Dashain, Tihar and Chhath.
