When drinks play the tricks

Dominated by utter pandemonium; some glutting ravenously and chatting, some tipsy and dull, some elated and prattling in a hoity-toity manner; the last but not the least, some looking lanky but flooding big talks, the sekuwa corner is busy in the evening. It looks crammed with all kind of folks. A variety of cuisines and blue, red, tiny, large bottles of liquors agglomerated all over the tables, so carefree, they celebrate every interlude of their stay sluggishly and lonely ones solemnly.

The way they speak, sometime express ire, even show cynical disdain for somebody else who is absent and lambaste; common presentation is sheer bravado, sounds only the corners as such in the capital utilize democratic freedom the fullest ironically. Overwhelmed by drunkenness, they enthrall themselves in the world of wine, win and whirl.

Unsurprisingly, this has been an epidemic culture of enjoyment flourishing rampantly in the urban land. A lot of people irrespective of their levels and professions conglomerate in the pubs, restaurants, sekuwa corners and so on, when the twilight fades away in the western skies.

Whether or not it is a healthy way of beating the lethargy and stress, liquors have cajoled many in rejoicing and recreation. Perhaps there is relief and refreshment, relaxatation and exhilaration, power and pelf. Perhaps getting drunk, boasting, staggering and drifting off is all about pride and sheer elation.

The quest of Nepalese society seems to be craving out its width and emancipation. Every whim and desire is fulfilled; every longing is quenched no matter if it sustains benefits or hazards. For example, drinking wine deliberately contributes to the deterioration of health, but the thirst for it seldom recedes. There goes a grand cocktail party even on simple occasions. Despite the wastage of hard-earned money, tender health and other risks, the thirst multiplies when one holds the glass.

The culture of floating in wine has crossed all barriers. It recognizes no boundaries and devastates everything on its way. Be it for momentary escape from tension and drudgery, for enjoyment and sophistication, for hypocrisy and vanity or whatsoever, it is never a sine qua non for a healthy and happy life.
