KATHMANDU, APRIL 14

On the last day of the year 2077, devotees attempt to erect the Lyosing in celebration of Biska Jatra and also jubilation of the beginning of the Nepali New Year in Bhaktapur, on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

This time, however, the Lyosing could not be erected due to various uncertain reasons. It faced problems as ropes got torn apart, and could only be erected as high as about 60 or 70 degree. It was then loosened to its sleeping position. The people are expecting to erect it today again. If so, as a general and centuries old tradition, it will be fallen in the evening of first day of the new year.
