KATHMANDU, AUGUST 13

The Boudha Mahakal Jatra, organized by the Shree Boudhanath Area Development Committee, brought together vibrant cultural performances in the heart of Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The event showcased the rich diversity of Nepal's ethnic communities, with the Tamang community presenting their traditional dances and music. Their energetic performances, adorned in colorful attire, added a lively rhythm to the festivities, drawing cheers from the gathered crowd.

Adding to the cultural spectacle, artists from the Newar community performed the iconic Lakhe dance, a dramatic and fierce display steeped in mythology. The masked dancer, embodying the mythical demon Lakhe, captivated onlookers with its dynamic movements and expressive gestures. This performance, a staple of Newar tradition, highlighted the deep-rooted cultural heritage preserved and celebrated during the Jatra.
