KATHMANDU, JUNE 29

Farmers in Khokana, Lalitpur marked Asar 15-celebrated as National Paddy Day-by planting paddy in their fields on Sunday, embracing a tradition that blends agriculture with culture.

The day, observed across the country, saw people enjoying dahi chiura (curd and beaten rice) after planting rice, a symbolic celebration of Nepal's agrarian roots.

Federal, provincial, and local governments also organized special events to promote paddy cultivation and honor the vital role of farmers in the country's food system.
