KATHMANDU, APRIL 21

Jacaranda trees in full bloom add a splash of color to Kathmandu's Kamalpokhari area, as seen on Monday.

Known for their striking purple-blue, trumpet-shaped flowers, Jacaranda mimosifolia is native to South America and was introduced to Nepal in the 1960s/70s.

The trees bloom from April to May, especially in areas like Kamalpokhari, Ratna Park, and around various embassies.

While visually stunning, the species is considered non-native and invasive.
