KATHMANDU, JANUARY 26

Nepal has been eliminated from the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2026 after suffering a heavy defeat against Scotland in its final group-stage match on Monday.

Playing at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal lost by 72 runs while chasing a target of 141. The team was bowled out for 68 runs in 13.5 overs. Roma Thapa remained unbeaten on 14 runs, while Bindu Rawal also scored 14 and Rubina Chhetri added 10. No other batter reached double figures.

For Scotland, Abtaha Maqsood took three wickets, while Katherine Fraser and captain Kathryn Bryce claimed two wickets each. Rachel Slater and Olivia Bell took one wicket apiece.

Earlier, Scotland posted 140 runs in 20 overs after losing the toss. Priyanaz Chatterji top-scored with 45 runs, followed by Ailsa Lister (22), Sarah Bryce (18), Megan McColl (17), and Rachel Slater (11).

Manisha Upadhyay was Nepal's standout bowler with four wickets, while Rubina Chhetri took three. Riya Sharma, Sita Ranamagar, and Kabita Joshi picked up one wicket each.

Nepal concluded the Qualifier with one win from four matches, finishing fourth in Group B with two points. Scotland advanced to the Super Six stage with four points.
