Nepal Paragliding and Hanggliding Association selected 20 paragliders for the 18th Asian Games to be held in Indonesia from August 18 to September 2.

The Association today organised a selection tournament to pick up the players.

Bishal Thapa, Sushil Bhattarai, Sher Bahadur Gurung, Bimal Adhikari, Bijay Dahal, Krishna Bahadur Sunuwar, Ashish Thapa, Nishin Thapa, Suraj Thapa and Anish Bhattarai were selected for cross country team events, informed the organisers.

Similarly, Rishi Pode, Yubraj Sunuwar, Madan Kumar Sunuwar, Subash Thapa, Anish Bhattarai, Yukesh Gurung, Bijay Gautam, Sabin Rana Magar and Bishal Thapa were were picked up for individual accuracy and team accuracy sections.

A total of 10 paragliders will make it to the final squad based on their performance, said the association.

Paragliding has been included in the 18th Asian Games as an exhibition event.
